Once you've booked your international move with Allied and your move plan is complete, now is the time to begin your international
moving experience. The next step will the packing and loading of your household
goods, where our expert crews will safely and efficiently prepare your goods for
transit.
International Moving - How You Can Prepare
There are many things you can do to expedite the international moving process, first
of which is sorting your belongings. Assist your Allied International crew by sorting
through your belongings prior to packing, setting aside those items that will be
put into storage, or those items that will not be moved.
Separate and pack all those personal items you will be bringing with you, including
money, valuable collectibles, jewelry, etc. In addition, it's a good idea to set
aside your passport and other critical paperwork for your international move.
International Moving - Our Packers and Movers
To ensure a seamless international move, you must have highly-trained packers and
movers handle your move. By using the proper technique, superior
quality packing supplies and extra special care and attention, you can rest assured
that your belongings will be packed and loaded in the most secure manner possible.
Our expert move crews undergo extensive training before ever handling your move.
They have been trained in using specific international packing materials and techniques
to provide the protection your belongings need for air or ocean transit. Your household
goods will be individually wrapped in our special six-layer padded paper wrap and
packed in the appropriate containers. Crates and casings are built specifically
for items that require special protection during international moving, while more
standard goods will be protected with sturdy wrapping and sturdy cartons.
The first person you will meet will be the crew supervisor. He or she will review
the details of the move with you and clarify your expectations or needs for the
move, along with any special instructions you may have. If anything has changed
since the time of your original estimate, please advise the crew supervisor so appropriate
arrangements can be made. The supervisor will walk around your home and plan the
packing process in the most efficient way.
International Moving - Protecting Your Home
Before we move items out of your home, we will protect the carpets, banisters, doorways
and other areas vulnerable to damage. This way your home will be protected throughout
the international moving process.
International Moving - Check Your Inventory
Be sure to check and see if everything that you want included in the shipment has
been packed. During the packing process, we will create an inventory of all the
things packed into cartons. The inventory will also contain brief details of the
carton's contents, as well as stretch-wrapped furniture. Once the inventory form
has been completed, you will be asked to sign this document. Remember to keep a
copy of this critical inventory document! A copy will also be forwarded to an Allied
International office at the destination to arrange customs clearance and delivery.
Shipment details
Once your items have been packed, inventoried and loaded, you will be mailed shipping
details that confirm your vessel or flight number. These shipping details will also
include the estimated time of arrival at port/airport and the name of the Allied
international contact who will clear your shipment through customs and arrange delivery
at your new destination. Our comprehensive packing and loading process ensures a
streamlined international move. International moving has never been made simpler
than with Allied International.
