Fernie, British Columbia Moving Company
Allied Van Lines: The Best of Fernie Moving Companies
Whether you are moving across the world or across the province, you can trust your move to Allied Van Lines. We've been in the moving business for over 80 years, and our experienced agents are trained to high standards of care and safety. Whether you are moving during warm summer days, spring rain or the snowy days of winter, our agents will hire movers who have the skills to maneuver everything from your heaviest living room furniture to your most fragile glasses and china around narrow corners, steep stairs and slippery sidewalks without scuffs or scrapes. Let Allied Van Lines do all the work so that you can invest your time in enjoying Fernie rather than worrying about your move.
Named after William Fernie, a late 19th-century prospector, Fernie owed its existence to coal. Over the past century, it has gone through many boom-and-bust cycles, culminating in the closure of the Coal Creek mine in 1960. Although Fernie still functions as a bedroom community for mines to the north, its focus has changed from burrowing under the mountains to exploiting the natural beauty above ground.
With the founding of the first local ski area in 1967, Fernie slowly grew into an outdoor destination famed for its consistent powder snow in the winter and fly-fishing, hiking, climbing and river sports in the summer. A winter mecca for outdoor activities, Fernie offers Alpine and Nordic resort skiing as well as backcountry adventures. As well as offering outdoor recreation, Fernie has a historic downtown with Edwardian-era brick buildings designed for durability and fire resistance, giving Fernie an elegant air. Nestled in the midst of the Rocky Mountains with a population of slightly over 4,800 people, Fernie makes it easy for residents to get away from crowds and enjoy nature. When you are in the mood for indoor cultural events, Fernie offers a museum, art galleries and a wide range of musical events, clubs and restaurants that cater both to locals and seasonal visitors.
Whether you are looking for an economical move or a luxury one for your relocation to Fernie, Allied Van Lines offers a wide range of moving packages. If you are concerned with price, you can pack your own household goods and talk to our agents about other ways to save money including moving outside peak periods and taking advantage of various other discounts. If what matters most to you is convenience, you can leave the hard work of packing and unpacking to our experienced agents, who will ensure that every precious object is fully protected in transit. We can even disassemble and assemble furniture and swing sets. If your move is taking place over several weeks, we offer short- and long-term storage for your goods. As the first step in planning a stress-free move, contact Allied Van Lines for a free quote today.
