Ron Mitchell of Bayshore Transportation Recognized for Dedication to Quality and Safety

CHICAGO, May 6, 2005 — Allied Van Lines has presented Ron Mitchell of Bayshore Transportation System, Inc. in Newark, Del., with its 2005 Driver of the Year award. One of the company’s most esteemed honors, this award is presented to the person who most exemplifies the company’s promise to “Carry the load” for customers. Mitchell was recognized for his dedication to Allied as well as his safe driving record and continued customer satisfaction.

To earn the Driver of the Year award, drivers are judged on a variety of criteria, including safety performance, minimum hauling requirements, individual claim histories and customer service ratings. Maintaining an average customer survey score of 4.90 for the past five years, Mitchell exemplifies Allied’s ongoing commitment to quality and safety.

“Allied Van Lines is pleased to recognize Ron for his dedication to safety and professionalism in delivering quality service,” said Tim Schneeman, general manager, Allied Van Lines, the world’s largest mover of families. “His ongoing commitment to meeting customer expectations has placed him in the highest position to win this award, and we are privileged to have him as a van foreman.”

Mitchell has a total of 18 years experience in the transportation business, and has earned a variety of prestigious awards from Allied including Driver of the Month and an eight-year safe driving award in 2004. Mitchell also has achieved Master Mover status for the past eight years, placing him among the elite van operators who qualify in the top 10 percent of the Allied Van Lines fleet in customer surveys and the lowest number of claims. Dedicated to his profession and his family, Mitchell currently resides in Goodyear, Ariz., with his wife Beth and sons Brady and Ryan.
